Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers state received Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) today, January 18, at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Adeboye was in Rivers state as part of his annual visit to the state to meet with members of the church and pray for the state.
He prayed: “The Almighty God will let peace reign Supreme in this state. There will be progress and development. Whatever little problem we may still have, God will settle them.”
He noted that Rivers state had the second largest population of RCCG members in the country.
Governor Wike expressed gratitude to God for the works he was doing through Adeboye, saying he had been a vessel of God used in blessing Nigeria.
According to him, it was the prayers of leading Christian leaders that has been the sustaining force behind Nigeria.
“If not for the prayers of men of God, what would have happened to Nigeria,” he noted.
Wike added that no step is taken in the state without the government seeking the approval of God.
