President Muhammadu Buhari is due to visit Nigeria’s eastern state of Anambra today, January, 23, 2016.
The occasion is a condolence visit to Alor community, residence of Dr Chris Ngige, minister of Labour and Employment, who recently lost his dad, Pa Pius Okonkwo Ngige at the age of 105.
The president is expected to pay a condolence visit to the former Anambra governor today, but the signs are bleak at the moment.
Naij.com findings revealed that as at 7.45am today, there were no security details on ground in the community, everywhere seemed quiet as the villagers seemed to be unsure of the president’s supposed visit.
This pessimism was further fueled by Senator Ngige, who told our correspondent on Friday evening, that the president was provisionally expected in the state.
He said: “Provisionally, Mr president has promised to be here tomorrow to condole with the family members.”
His elder brother, Chief Edwin Ngige also was not forthcoming when he was asked about the president’s imminent arrival.
According to him, “let’s wait until he comes before we can say anything about his coming. But we are told that he would be here.”
