Nigerian government has reportedly run away from New York court on January 14, Thursday on the case between Nigeria and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
One of the top leaders of Biafra dragged Nigeria before a United States of America court for legal battle.
However, Nigerian government abandoned their lawyer and ran away from New York court and the case was dismissed.
The number of Biafran supporters both came out in their dozens wearing T-Shirts to show their solidarity in the case.
“Nigeria ran away from New York court and case was dismissed. We are deliberating a counter suit for damages. There is a large turnout of Biafrans in the court and we are all wearing our T-Shirts,” Dr. Clifford Iroanya told reporters.
Nigerian government dragged the IPOB to court in New York in June 2015, during the one of President Muhammadu Buhari visit to the White House.
The detention of the IPOB leader and the director of the Radio Biafra Nnamdi Kanu caused the outrage of his supporters as they came out to the streets in Nigeria and in many other countries demanding his release and the independence of their territories.
Kanu was arrested by the State Security Service in Lagos in October 2015 on conspiracy and terrorism charges that were later dropped.
