Kano State Police Command has arraigned before the court, Proprietor of Hassan Gwarzo College, Professor Ibrahim Ayagi over alleged homosexuality charges that were reported among the students of the college.
Prof Ayagi and three persons were arraigned before the court over the sodomy charges which upon the report of an inquiry committee, the school was closed down indefinitely.
Those to be arraigned today are the Principal of the College, Muhd Bashir Jimo, Kabiru Said, Ado Umar, over criminal conspiracy, joint act, and six other charges.
This is the first time the Police are coming out clear in the case that saw Kano State government closing the college after finding it culpable in the homosexual case.
Professor Ibrahim Ayagi also has another one count charge on him of gross indecency to face.
The presiding judge, Aminu Kabara adjourned the case till February 29, 2016.
However, Kano State executive council has approved the immediate re-opening of Hassan Ibrahim Gwarzo Boys Secondary School despite instituting a legal suit against the management of the college.
While reviewing the issue, the council has considered the persistent call by the stakeholders for the re-opening of the school.
The state government took into cognisance the provision of security and that nothing will affect the matter before the court.
