The federal government is set to declare former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Mohammed Bello Adoke and seven others wanted for alleged corruption related offences.
Others are Major-General Sarki Yaki-Bello, former head of the counter-terrorism outfit; former PDP chairman, Ahmed Muazu; ex-Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko, former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, Mr. Waripamowei Dudafa, ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs; retired Colonel Bello Fadile and a newspaper publisher.
In addition to the listed individuals, Daily Trust reports that many more suspects will be declared wanted in subsequent weeks.
Adoke is wanted in connection with the $1.1 billion Malabu Oil deal in which he was alleged to have helped in the payment of that amount, paid by Royal Dutch Shell and Eni, to former petroleum minister, Dan Etete.
Sarkin Yaki and Fadile had worked in the office of the former NSA, retired Col Sambo Dasuki who is currently on trial for alleged fraud involving billions of naira.
Sarkin Yaki and Fadile have reportedly fled the country.
Similarly, Dikko left with his family to an undisclosed country, after a recent raid by the EFCC.
While Maina, who has been on exile, is wanted in relation to alleged pension fund fraud, Muazu has questions to answer about funding of PDP 2015 campaigns.
He allegedly absconded to Singapore nearly two weeks ago and his current destination is unknown.
